SUTRA 1: – By splitting the numbers into ones, tens, hundreds, etc.
Let’s take an example to understand it better.
Example 1: 24 + 63 + 58 + 45
Step 1 – Split the numbers to be added into ones and tens.
20 + 4 + 60 + 3 + 50 + 8 + 40 + 5
Step 2 – Put all the tens together and ones together.
20 + 60 + 50 + 40 + 4 + 3 + 8 + 5
Step 3 – Add all the tens together and ones together.
170 + 20
Step 4 – Now add all of them together to get the result.
Ans. 190
Example 2: 54 + 89 + 125 + 276 + 684
Solution: = 50 + 4 + 80 + 9 + 100 + 20 + 5 + 200 + 70 + 6 + 600 + 80 + 4
(Splitting the numbers into ones, tens and hundreds)
= 100 + 200 + 600 + 50 + 80 + 20 + 70 + 80 + 4 + 9 + 5 + 6 + 4
(Putting all hundreds together, all tens together and all ones together)
= 900 + 400 + 28
(Adding hundreds together, tens together and ones together)
= 1300 + 28
(Adding hundreds again)
= Ans. 1328
Example 3: 3460 + 87 + 2764 + 547 + 423 + 45
Solution: = 3000 + 400 + 60 + 80 + 7 + 2000 + 700 + 60 + 4 + 500 + 40 + 7 + 400 + 20 + 3 + 40 + 5
= 3000 + 2000 + 400 + 700 + 500 + 400 + 60 + 80 + 60 + 40 + 20 + 40 + 7 + 4 + 7 + 3 +5
= 5000 + 2000 + 300 + 26
= 7000 + 300 + 26
= Ans. 7326
